The 2012 NCAA Football season has arrived as it kicks off on Thursday night, and it is a long weekend for college football junkies too with games going on until Labor Day Monday.
There are a few conference games on opening weekend, but as usual, the vast majority of games are non-conference affairs, which is usually the case in the first three or four weeks of the season.
Now those of you that have followed us in the past know that most of our Trends & Angles point to underdogs, but Week 1 non-conference games can be notable exceptions because many big-name schools like to open up with inferior competition that usually results in easy wins. Many times, the favorites are not bashful about running up the score either.
